Colt starting-for un-started or very green colts. The owner or their rider will ride the colt. A lot of discussion and demonstration on gentling and preparing horse and rider for a happy, safe and successful future will be the focus of this class. Maximum of 12 colts.
Horsemanship 1- is for novice riders and green horses. Any person that can maintain control of their horse in agroup may participate. General philosophy, balance, basic maneuvers, problem solving, questions and answers will be the focus of this class. Maximum 15 riders.
Horsemanship 2- is for competitive riders and advanced riders and horses. Philosophy, balance, reining maneuvers, advanced body control, questions and answers will be the focus of this class. Maximum 15 riders.
Cattle Working - for riders that would like to start competing or just gain a better understanding of handling cattle. We will focus on stockmanship-cow and horse psychology, and bringing out the natural ability in the horse to work cattle for ranch, team penning or working cow horse events. Maximum 15 riders.
Competitive Cow Working - this is for advanced horses and riders that have experience handling cattle. Offensive position and control with speed for reined-cow horse, ranch horse or team penning events will be the focus. Maximum 15 riders.
A-Pen Class - this is for intermediate/advanced riders and horses at any level. The focus is on bringing out the natural ability of the horse to control the cow through defensive maneuvers necessary in any competitive cow event. A-pen required. Maximum 15 riders.
Ranch Roping - will focus on handling the cattle to set up shots for yourself and others. We will work on position and rate which are very important factors to a successful shot. Also learn shots from every angle and variations of shots you know. Guarantee you will see something new! Maximum 15 riders.
Ranch Horse Versatility - for those who are competing in the ranch horse versatility events, or just want a challenge. Martin will focus on the roping, reining, cow work and sorting aspects of the event. Maximum 20 riders.
