James H Black (my grandfather’s grandfather) with the iron branding some big calves late in the fall at his home ranch in Bruneau, Idaho. This ranch, along with 3 of his sons ranches, are under water now. His home had survived floods and fires several times  over 75 years. The whole ranch was lost when the dam was built in 1950. His descendants are enjoying branding calves ,7 generations later,  still heading and heeling them.~ Martin Black
